Phil Baker led Hecla as CEO for more than 20 years, beginning his tenure when silver prices were at their lowest since 1993. Under his leadership, Hecla has addressed significant legacy environmental liabilities, proactively investing hundreds of millions of dollars in environmental efforts long before the widespread focus on ESG principles.

In 2008, Phil orchestrated the sale of Hecla's Venezuelan operations, where the company was the largest gold producer, and used the proceeds to acquire full ownership of Greens Creek, one of the world's top silver mines. His dedication to innovation prompted the development of the patented Underhand Closed Bench mining method at the Lucky Friday mine, significantly enhancing safety and productivity for the future. In 2022, Hecla expanded its portfolio by acquiring the Keno Hill mining district, which is expected to contribute to nearly 40% of Canada’s silver production starting in 2026.

Phil is a prominent advocate for the critical role of silver in the energy transition, especially in photovoltaics. He has served as a past Chairman of the United States National Mining Association and is the current Chairman of the Silver Institute. His extensive experience has given him insight into the highs and lows of the mining industry.

Becky Berube has served the recycling community for over thirty years. Based in Greenville, South Carolina as President of United Catalyst Corporation, she writes a monthly educational column for the industry, and serves on several ARA and ISRI committees; she is a newly appointed Advisor on the US Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals. She was a recipient of the 2023 South Carolina Women in Business Award, and is a mentor in the Women in PGMs program. Becky also serves on the Executive Committee of the International Precious Metals Institute (IPMI), and is a past President

Dr. Jonathan Butler is Head of Business Development at Mitsubishi Corporation, specializing in the financing and sales of the full suite of PGMs, silver and gold. He also leads Mitsubishi’s precious metals research and strategy. Jon has been at Mitsubishi since 2013 and previously worked in various marketing and research roles at Johnson Matthey. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and Masters degrees from the University of Oxford. He is currently Vice President of the IPMI, a member of the Management Committee of the London Platinum and Palladium Market and is an active member of the London Bullion Market Association.

Marion Cameron-Gray has been President and CEO of Sipi Metals Corp. since 2007, where she has served in various executive functions since 1992. Sipi Metals is a 119-year-old private Chicago based firm, which manufactures brass and bronze alloys and recovers precious metals from industrial materials. Sipi also provides services in secure destruction of sensitive data-bearing electronic media. Sipi’s primary facility is in Chicago.

The precious metal recovery operation partners with major refiners in Europe, Africa and Japan.

In 2007, Ms. Cameron-Gray executed a buy-out from the last remaining shareholder of the founding family.

Prior to Sipi Metals Corp., Ms. Cameron-Gray was associated with international metals trading companies in New York.

Ms. Cameron-Gray studied Electrical Engineering at Trinity College, Dublin, where she grew up, and graduated with an MBA from Pace University in New York.

A devoted music lover, Ms. Cameron-Gray is a member of the board of the Lyric Opera of Chicago where she chairs the investment committee and is a Trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association. She is also a founding member of the American Writers Museum, recently opened in Chicago and is a board member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She is also a member of the Kellogg School of Management Global Advisory Board at Northwestern University.

Ms. Cameron-Gray is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago, The Chicago Network, The Committee of 200 and the International Precious Metals Institute.

During his three-decade career in the financial services industry, Joe has developed and demonstrated expertise in the areas of global capital markets, exchange traded funds, asset management, trading, and business/platform development. He also spent more than 15 years working in Asia. Prior to joining the World Gold Council, Joe was a managing director at BlackRock where he was responsible for iShares Capital Markets (Americas) and was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. His responsibilities also included product development and management as well as running a global team.

John is Commercial Director of Johnson Matthey’s PGMS business. He has worked in the industry for many years and has held a variety of senior commercial roles in JM including spending several years as Managing Director of their Precious Metals Management business, which included the Metals Trading, Sales, and Market Research functions. He has been based in roles in both the UK and the US.
He was appointed Chairman of the London Platinum and Palladium Market (LPPM) in February 2022. He had served on the Management Committee for the previous three years.

Ben Davis started Davis Recycling in 1998, buying converters in Arizona, and moved to Tennessee in 1999. Davis Recycling is located in Johnson City, Tennessee. In 2006, Ben opened Metal Recycling Inc., a full-service metals recycling center.

Originally from London, he now resides in Miami with his wife and three daughters. Holding a degree from the University of Birmingham (UK) he completed a legal education at BPP Law School in London.

He has dedicated his entire career to Mastermelt, where I currently serve in a global business development role focused on the reclamation and processing of precious metals. His work spans various industrial sectors, including aerospace and pharmaceuticals.
For the past three years, he has concentrated on the recovery of precious metals within the green hydrogen and fuel cell sectors.

Mohammad Doostmohammadi is the founder and CEO of pH7 Technologies, leading the company’s strategic vision and business and technical activities.
As a serial entrepreneur with a passion for sustainability, Mohammad has been committed to exploring new technologies that make existing processes and systems more environmentally-friendly, as well as economically viable for wide-scale industry applications. He advocates the value of working collectively to make an impact, advancing solutions that can bring about positive outcomes today, and for future generations.

Mohammad brings with him a deep background in science and complex chemical processes, having spent over 15 years working on mineral extraction, mineral processing, metal extraction, and wastewater management. Prior to pH7 Technologies, he had managed the development of five different processing plants globally, overseeing the projects from ideation and R&D, all the way through to commercialization and launch.

Mohammad holds strong industry relationships built on shared values and goals, envisioning a future where the environmental footprint can be eliminated through the adoption of innovative chemical processes. At pH7 Technologies, this mission is realized in the company’s production of green metals that have the lowest carbon footprint.

Luca Fiorini is originally from Arezzo, a world center of quality gold processing. He graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Florence. Sine then he has specialized in telecommunications and automation systems. He contributed to the development of the reliability of the Italian railway network by facilitating the prevention of failures in traffic control system and the then later developed automation or the precious metals refining industry. With Italimpianti Orafi he founded Tera Automation. With the help of an extremely competent team of technicians programmers and engieers he designed an innovative tunnel furnace that revolutionized the way ingots are produced. Since 2018 he has been a partner in Italimpianti Orafi and later founded Maximeccanica, a mechanical workship focusing on CNC precious machining and 3 D printing

Prior to joining United Precious Metal Refining, Inc., Raysa has
extensive experience in the banking sectors in various functions, most notably in Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Investigations, Business Banking and Policy Implementation

As Chief Technical Officer for the LBMA, Neil’s responsibilities include acting as the Executive’s main contact for the Good Delivery system for GD Refiners, applicants and LBMA Committees. His duties include managing the LBMA Good Delivery accreditation system, including applications, Pro-Active Monitoring, Proficiency Testing and other GD related projects. The role also involves overseeing the work of the GDL Officer in the administration of the Good Delivery system as well as managing the implementation by gold Good Delivery refiners of the LBMA’s Responsible Gold Guidance and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Good Delivery work carried out by the LBMA.

He brings to the role a wealth of experience having previously been Head of Evaluation at the Rand Refinery in South Africa. He represented the Rand Refinery at the LBMA as the only Referee in the Southern Hemisphere. As one of only five Referees appointed by the LBMA to oversee the maintenance of the LBMA’s Good Delivery List, he has been involved in many initiatives to ensure and develop the integrity of the gold industry. He contributed to the steering committee which produced the “Conflict-Free” Gold Standard of the World Gold Council as well as the development of the LBMA’s Responsible Gold Guidance and presented the Rand Refinery “Artisanal gold” Model at the OECD in Paris. He was a Board Member of the Responsible Jewellery Council representing the Gold and/or Platinum Metals, Refiners and/or Hedgers Forum as well as sitting on the Membership Committee. His work experience included nine years in the Platinum Industry and held the position as a member of the South African Organising Committee of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Lee M Hockey –Started his career at Johnson Matthey PLC where, in 30 years + he held many commercial roles reaching the position of Sales & Marketing Director within Johnson Matthey’s Global PGM Refining business. After leaving Johnson Matthey Lee spent a short time with Mastermelts Group of Companies. In October 2017 he set up his own business as a consultant to the precious metals industry in, with Hensel Recycling being one of his key customers. Lee has been involved within the IPMI for many years and is Past President of European Chapter of the IPMI

Steven R. Izatt is President and CEO of IBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Precious Metals Institute (“IPMI”) and received the IPMI Jun-ichiro Tanaka Distinguished Achievement Award in recognition of his entrepreneurial contributions to the precious metals industry. In addition to IPMI, Mr. Izatt is a Registered Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration and a member of the American Chemical Society. He holds an S.M. degree in Chemical Engineering Practice and an S.M. degree in Technology and Policy, both from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Brigham Young University

Sandeep Kaler is a Market Strategy Analyst at SFA (Oxford) focusing on demand for PGMs and other critical minerals. She specialises in high-tech and industrial applications where these critical metals are used including automotive, fuel cells, hydrogen, and chemical applications. Prior to joining SFA (Oxford) in 2022, Sandeep completed a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath, as well as master’s degrees from Cardiff University and Queen Mary University of London.

To repair or scrap?

That question and its implication has been the focus of Adam Lazewski’s career. After spending 16 years in the collision repair industry, culminating in his role as North American Zone Manager for BASF, he transitioned to precious metals recycling. In his current role as North American Commercial Manager for BASF ECMS’s Precious Metal and Refining Division, Adam has focused his attention on the refining of spent automotive and chemical catalyst, as well as the precious metal chemicals industry. As an advocate for customers, and their important role in the circular economy, he has brought impactful changes and innovation for all stakeholders.

Currently Refining Global Commercial Director at Johnson Matthey, Ruth Leland is responsible globally for Refining within the Platinum Group Metals and Services part of the business. A core element of the role involves understanding the full metal flow from product supply to product recycling, and with a greater drive towards sustainability, the value proposition is becoming more about the full circularity package than any single part of the offer. She also has responsibility for the European Customer Services Teams across both the Refining and Products businesses.
Prior to joining Johnson Matthey five years ago, Ruth held the role of Refrigerants Business Manager at BOC, where she worked for 13 years holding a range of strategic roles in sales and customer management. An advocate for gender diversity in the precious metals industry, Ruth has been a member of the Women in PGM Network since its inception in 2019.

Algis is the Director of the Central Laboratory at Sabin Metal Corporation. Algis has been with Sabin for 28 years. His extensive experience in fire assay, wet chemistry, analytical instrumentation, and quality assurance have been integral to the success of the laboratory. He has earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry, with a specialization in Physical Chemistry at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Algis has also served as a chairperson of the Sampling & Analytical Committee of the IPMI for the past 7 years.

Philip is a founding partner of Metals Focus, with 29 years’ experience. Prior to this Philip was Research Director at GFMS, where he was a key contributor and project manager of the silver, gold and PGM surveys, research reports and consultancy projects.

Patrick O’Connor started with Inductotherm Corp. in February 2022 as an Associate District Manager. Patrick brought a diversified background to Inductotherm with experience in Sales, Human Resources, and Logistics. In 2023 Patrick was promoted to District Manager and covers the North Central USA territory. Originally from Jackson, NJ, Patrick currently resides in Toms River, NJ. Marge leads platinum group metal (PGM) advocacy for Johnson Matthey and is a member of JM’s renowned PGM Market Research team. She began her career at Implats in South Africa before emigrating to the UK and joining JM. Over the past ten years with Market Research her focus has been on analysing the energy transition and its implications for the PGM industry. She also participates in JM’s wider climate scenario and strategic materials modelling. In her advocacy work, she aims to equip policymakers, innovators, and other stakeholders with the necessary insights into the PGM markets to unlock the potential of these metals to serve the energy transition, health, and environmental sustainability

Dr. Stacey Santolli is the Global Production Analytics Manager for BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions. She has been with BASF-ECMS for 13 years during which she held a variety of laboratory roles. For over 40 years, Edmund has excelled in the processing, refining, and manufacturing of precious metals. His career began with training as an assayer, analyzing ore and Dore' using classical techniques. Advancing in the late 1980’s to Senior Vice President of refinery operations at Pure Metals Corporation, he oversaw hydro/pyro metallurgical refinery procedures, and fabricated high-purity sputter target products for defense contractors. As founder and Chief Executive Officer of Noble6 his expertise guided the company engaged in automotive precious metal recycling to success. He has been awarded two United States Patents as well as several overseas Patents. Recently, he directed the commercialization of a robotic process line for the recovery of Iridium/Platinum metals from spark plugs. Edmund remains actively involved in the industry through Noble6 and their podcast, Noble6 Talks.

ana Stunis is a Precious Metals Sales Manager at Anglo Platinum Marketing Ltd, where she has developed strong client relationships with strong focus on Sustainability. Yana has over 20 years of experience in the financial services, commodities, and technology industries. Previously, she has held a number of front office, business development and risk positions at top tier global institutions and fintech start-ups. Yana sits on the Board of Women in PGMs and is the Chair of the European Chapter. She received BS in Economics from the Wharton School and is a CFA Charterholder.

Gancheng Sun is the Director of Business Strategy at Amogy. She joined Amogy as employee #10 and helped the company scale to 180 employees with more than $220 million in funding. She is currently leading corporate strategy with a focus on fundraising and business development. Prior to joining Amogy, Gancheng worked with commercial real estate project finance at CBRE. Gancheng holds a Master degree of Business Management from Duke University and a Bachelor degree of Finance at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Wilma heads all platinum group metals research at Metals Focus. She has 12 years’ experience in the PGM mining industry focused on metal sales and marketing from her time at Lonmin, where she was Head of Commercial Services. She served as non-executive director on the boards of the Platinum Jewellery Development Association, World Platinum Investment Council and Furuya Metals . She also served as chairperson of The Platinum Incubator from 2016-2019 and is the current Chairperson of Women in PGMs. Wilma holds a MSc in International Business Administration from the University of London

From 2011 to 2019, as Senior Vice-President, Investment Banking for the Canadian investment banking firm IBK Capital, Ms. Werstiuk led financing initiatives consisting primarily of debt and equity transactions totaling more than US$200 million. In 2020, she joined Geneva-based OCIM, a strategic assets financier and precious metals trader; as Director of Corporate Development, Ms. Werstiuk identified investment opportunities and designed and implemented alternative financing products and strategies. With Monetary Metals, she is part of the Origination team, responsible for sourcing, qualifying and structuring lease and bond transactions under the company’s Unlocking the Productivity of Gold® platform.

Most recently, she is the founder of Fuchsia Capital Advisors, a boutique financial advisory firm focused on the resource sector. A graduate of Queen’s University, Ms. Werstiuk has been a member of the Toronto Chapter of “Women in Mining” (WIM) since 2017, holding various executive roles, including Co-Vice Chair, and helping to grow the organization into one of Canada’s most influential associations focused on advancing the role of women within the mining industry.

She is also a member in good standing of WIM UK, PDAC and CIM, as well as the Artemis Project, which is a coalition of Canadian women entrepreneurs in the mining industry focused on advancing and supporting women within the mining sector. Miranda is Chair, Program Advisory Group of the planetGOLD program - a global partnership with governments, the private sector, and artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) communities to improve the production practices and work environment of artisanal and small-scale miners, with the aim to reduce mercury use in ASGM.

Aline Wolf is an accomplished and versatile manager based in Neu-Isenburg, Germany. Born on April 4, 1989, in Offenbach a.M., Aline has cultivated a strong career in strategy development, technical sales, and international team coordination. With over eight years of experience in the B2B and trade sectors, she has demonstrated exceptional skills in leading interdisciplinary projects and managing operational responsibilities, particularly in the German precious metals market.
Currently serving as the Market Leader for Precious Metals at Bureau Veritas Commodities Germany GmbH, Aline oversees strategic key account development, market intelligence collection, and global business coordination. Her role involves driving sales growth, managing client relationships, and supporting internal process innovations.
Aline's previous roles include serving as a Commercial Manager at Bureau Veritas, where she led revenue development and client network building, and as a Key Account Manager at a precious metals recycling company in Germany, where she managed a substantial customer base and supported trainees. Her early career included various roles in sales, customer service, and project management.
Aline holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from Justus-Liebig-University, Gießen, and a Bachelor of Science from Goethe University, Frankfurt a.M. She is fluent in German and English.
Beyond her professional life, Aline is actively involved in several honorary positions, such as being a board member of the EC-IPMI and a member of the IPMI sustainability committee. She enjoys equestrian sports, tennis, biking, running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
